To block USB ports on a Windows 11 computer, you can use the Group Policy editor or a third-party tool.
To use the Group Policy editor:
- Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog.
- Type "gpedit.msc" and press Enter to open the Group Policy editor.
- In the Group Policy editor, go to "Computer Configuration" > "Administrative Templates" > "System" > "Removable Storage Access".
- Double-click on the "Removable Disks: Deny read access" policy.
- Select "Enabled" and click "OK".
This will block access to all USB storage devices on the computer. To allow access to specific USB devices, you can add them to an "Exceptions" list by double-clicking on the "Removable Disks: Deny write access" policy and adding the device IDs to the list.
To use a third-party tool:
There are several tools available that allow you to block USB ports on a Windows computer. Some examples include USB Blocker and USB Drive Disabler. These tools typically allow you to specify which USB devices are allowed or blocked, and provide additional features such as password protection and activity logging.
